This course is intended to help you prepare for the SM2 Transport Canada exam. The SM2 exam is three hours and consists of 4 essay-style questions worth 15 marks each, 2 short answer questions worth 10 marks each, and 10 multiple choice questions worth 2 marks each. The questions are based on knowledge of regulations and general ship management practices.
During your exam, you will be provided with a laptop that contains all of the open book publications in PDFs. It is important that you familiarize yourself with these publications so that you know where to find information during the exam. There may be questions that pertain to information that is not found within the publications. We recommend that you spend a minimum of four weeks preparing for this exam.
