Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵEarly Learning Centre provides quality childcare service to children and families. We provide equal opportunity for child care service to Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵstudents, staff and the general public.
The Early Learning Centre is the lab school for the Early Childhood Care and Education program. First and second-year ECCE students participate in activities at the centre through planned lab experiences, course-based observations, and practicum options. The practicum sessions take place in the late fall and in the spring of each year.
The children in the Early Learning Centre fondly call the college students “big students”, and enjoy the variety of experiences they bring to the centre. The children also have opportunities to work with students in other programs within the Health and Community Studies department. These experiences include a teddy bear clinic with the Primary Care Paramedicine students and Taking Care of My Teeth, a clinic with the Dental Assisting students. These connections to other programs at the college continue to evolve and enhance the variety of opportunities children have at in the Early Learning Centre.
As an Early Years Centre, childcare fees are set according to the PEI preschool excellence initiative and are subject to change according to government notification. Fees are charged for days the centre is closed due to public holidays, storm and professional development days. The current service fees are:
Monday to Friday: 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
