Daniel Cudmore, Inspector Curtis Fudge, and Jennifer Toole were recognized for their outstanding contributions to Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵduring the college’s staff appreciation day, held at the Loyalist Country Inn and Conference Centre in Summerside recently.
Cudmore, who is the Athletics Development and Communications Coordinator, received the Staff Excellence Award for his work supporting the activities of the athletics department and the Hurricanes. A graduate of Holland College’s golf programs, Cudmore returned to the college in 2013, and since then he has been an invaluable member of the athletics department team.
Inspector Curtis Fudge is the recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award. Inspector Fudge teaches law to cadets in the Atlantic Police Academy’s Police Science program. In addition to finding innovative ways to ensure that his students are engaged in what can be, for some, a dry topic, Inspector Fudge established and maintains the academy’s blog, . He uses the blog to update officers about recent case law and about changes and amendments to criminal law. To date, the blog has had more than 268,000 views from more than 60,000 unique visitors from all over the world.
Jennifer Toole received the Facilities Support Services Excellence Award for her exemplary performance and invaluable contributions. A kitchen worker for the Tourism and Culinary Centre for the past seven years, Toole is noted for her excellent work ethic. Her positive, upbeat attitude and her willingness to help others have been invaluable in the hectic kitchens of the Tourism and Culinary Centre,
Doug Currie, Vice President of Corporate Services at Holland College, said the recipients exemplify the depth and breadth of commitment that Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵemployees are noted for.
“Curtis and Dan constantly search for new ways to enhance the student experience and to ensure that our students graduate with confidence, prepared to enter the workforce and contribute to their communities,” he said. “Jennifer has demonstrated the value a dedicated and committed staff member has to the rest of the team. I congratulate all three, and on behalf of the college, thank them for their contributions to the college community.”
Cudmore and Fudge’s names will be submitted for consideration for the national Colleges and Institutes awards, which will be presented in Montreal next year.
