Board announces new Vice Chair and welcomes new members


The Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵBoard of Governors is pleased to announce the appointment of Gordon MacInnis to the position of Vice Chair of the Board, and to welcome Dylan Mullally, Lori Dawson and Ryan Campbell as new members.

Gordon MacInnis became a member of the Finance Committee and the Board of Governors in October 2017. In addition to his appointment as Vice Chair of the Board, Mr. MacInnis is now Chair of the Finance Committee. He is a former educator and elementary school principal and served as an elected member of the province's Executive Council as Minister in several portfolios from 1986 to 1996. As well, he developed and operated a successful tourism business from the mid 70s until 2014. He has also served on a number of tourism related boards.

Dylan Mullally was appointed to the board in September 2019 as a government representative.  He is currently on leave from the position of Principal of Charlottetown Rural High School, and is serving as the Administrator Support Leader, Secondary and Intermediate Level with the PEI Department of Education and Lifelong Learning. Dylan will also serve on the board’s Program Committee.

Lori Dawson has also been appointed to the Board of Governors and the Finance Committee. She brings a wealth of financial experience as a retired CPA and CA. Ms. Dawson has extensive financial experience, and she has a life-long interest in PEI’s education system. She plays an active role as volunteer in her community and possesses valuable business experience from the private and public sectors.

Ryan Campbell, a student from the college’s Construction Electrical program, located on the Summerside Waterfront Campus, has also been appointed to the board.

Michael O’Brien has served as the Chair of the Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵBoard of Governors since 2017. He will continue to work closely with Mr. MacInnis as Vice Chair and looks forward to working with all members over the coming year.

Penny Walsh-McGuire is taking a one-year planned leave of absence from the board. Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵPresident Dr. Alexander (Sandy) MacDonald thanked Ms. Walsh-McGuire for her support and leadership.

“Our board is very grateful for her past dedication to the Board as Chair of the Finance Committee and Vice Chair of the Board of Governors. We look forward to welcoming her back to our board in the role of Chair in July of 2020.”
